EOMGMA President, Charlotte Stith
It is my sincere pleasure to service as President of the Eastern Oklahoma chapter of MGMA in 2017. I believe EOMGMA is one of the premier organizations in the nation. We are always guided by the MGMA mission “To elevate the performance of medical practice leaders and their organizations by connecting members, building partnerships, setting the stands for certification, advocating for physician practice and providing innovative solution.” EOMGMA excels at all of these functions along with a strong desire to provide local community service.
I grew up in Tulsa, OK and I have 25+ years of experience in the healthcare industry, a master’s in Healthcare Administration, MGMA Certified Medical Practice Executive, and HIT Certification from AHIMA. I have been engaged and in executive positions related to the physician component of the revenue cycle including PQRS, Meaningful Use, Value Based Payments, Bundled Payments and, most recently, QRUR and how to apply the data to MACRA/MIPS. I have been accountable for the oversight of the revenue cycle of a 100+ primary care group associated with an integrated delivery system, a 200+ hospital employed multispecialty physician group, private multispecialty groups and individual physicians.
All of us involved with EOMGMA have had many successful accomplishments and a few failures. Both have helped us develop as leaders in the healthcare community. We believe an effective leader is one who inspires and influences people to believe in change and take steps toward success. We believe relationships and a culture which promotes and empowers leadership is the most critical success factor in moving forward. We all strive for the ability to develop relationships with all levels of any organization while at the same time instill passion in leaders to execute change.
2017 will be a year of change and it is our responsibility as healthcare leaders to help deliver this change to our community and physician leaders. The Quality Payment Program will transform our healthcare community into a system that will never be the same. As leaders, we need to accept this responsibility with pride knowing that we are part of a national healthcare transformation.
We ask you to participate in our educational lunches and annual state meeting so that each of us can help one another in our professional development. The changes we will see in 2017 cannot be taken alone. By standing together and supporting one another we will be able to transform a community as part of an entire nation.
This is why the EOMGMA Board of Directors has decided to make 2017 the Year of the Leader! We must have a support system to learn how to manage and facilitate change. Together we can help each other become the best healthcare leaders for our community.
